- Answer I have read that HPs Touch Screens work with NTrig technology. They can use a Surface pen and Surfaces can use the HP pen and both can use after-market pens. You should do a search to see what pen you like. Some do significantly better than others with writing or art. Hard tips are better for writing, others for art. Some pens have changeable nibs for that reason.

QuestionCan power to the touch screen interface be turned off &on? To save on battery usage. (I mean off so no power usage or draw, & not just disabled but still using/drawing power.) Also other internal & external devices/ports? SSD, HDD, wireless, USB,etc.

- Answer One person here answered as if this issue is a Windows issue. AFAIK, it's a hardware issue as well (as the question implies). I would not trust the person who answered the question from a pure Windows perspective. They may be right, but they should clarify this is true FOR ALL TYPES OF HARDWARE and that NO MANUFACTURER KEEPS THE GRID POWERED when the grid interaction is disabled.
