Unfortunately no, it is not as strong as a GeForce 1080; if you're wanting to consider an upgrade, we recommend making sure your card of choice has proper space for airflow and power usage!

It runs really nice on everything I've asked it to play, but it simply doesn't have the same memory that the 1080TI does. The biggest load I gave it was Call of Duty:Black Ops, which it handled with no problems. As far as you second part, it's just a normal plug in video card, and should be able to be replaced with no problems. Be aware, though, that I've had issues with overheating in this case unless I leave the side of it off. I think it needs more fans to move air through it.
