• Yes - through the included software. So install the software that comes with the printer. I've played with it on a few scans and it does a very good job matching fonts and formatting output to be able to edit and/or fill in forms. There is some upgrade to the OCR software available for a price, but I dont think I need anything more than what came for free.

• For the m277dw printer there is third party OCR software Readiris Pro 14 for HP available for Windows 7 or later. It's available via download from the official HP support download site.

• OCR is handled by included third party software only available for Windows. The feature is not built into the device.

• Good question. The printer does not come with an OCR function. You can download a separate OCR software if you wish to use OCR on your scanned documents. I hope this helps.
