“I see that it has a 100 page tray as well as a 250 page tray. Is it possible to put legal size paper in one of the trays and letter size paper in the other and have the printer automatically select the correct size of out put as the documents print?”

Inasmuch as this printer prints legal -- 8 ½" X 14" -- at least one of the trays has to have been designed to accommodate that size paper. As to whether the printer can choose automatically which tray to pull from based on the amount of text per page, I don't know. My research of various brands indicates that the user must designate which tray on both the primter's screen and the computer.
