      Great for Small Offices

My manager recently purchase this all in one printer when he started his new business. It's a small office with a total of 5 employees. Before the new owner, i used a xerox scanner and an hp laser jet 1300 printer separately, anyways. We are going paperless and now we have more employees. We only use PC window 7 computers, so far this printer has worked well. I have connected 4 users through wifi okay but it seems to not pick up 5 users. I'm not sure if there is a limit on the number of users being able to access this printer. Another thing i dislike about this printer is the management software. In order to scan documents i have to first "okay it" through the computer in order to scan docs through the feeder, it's an inconvenience. I don't like that if i'm navigating the printer touch screen, i pick the "scan to computer option" pick my computer then have to go to the computer to okay the scan. I also don't like when it's scanning i cannot group the documents together, its time consuming trying to scan 7 pages and uploading 7 pages instead of one document with multiple scanned documents. With my previous scanner i was able to do this due to the docs being pdf. I will have to "tweak" the management software but it seems to be lacking that's why i took one star off. Overall this is a great printer with great speed and printing capabilities. I just don't like the management software, its difficult to personalize it. I haven't had time to really look at the features the software has but seeing other reviews here, i will have to mess with the settings.

I need performance. I rarely need color. Fast double sided auto feed scanner. 40 Page/min printing. smaller footprint than the color inkjet. It has more functionality than I need, but I can wirelessly network it in at the same time hardwire it into my primary computer. I have no tried printing something from my iPhone yet. The manual state that you can do that if you set it up. Things you need to know. (1) You probably have to download the driver from the HP website. (2) I had a problem printing a PDF file. When I printed it, it would print fine until page 5 and it would print strage characters at the top of the page and print blank or other straneg chartacters. Burned a lot of paper. I believe it was caused by the PDF file had things to print outside the allowable margin of the printer (believe 0.3"). When I selected the fit option from the print menu in the PFD software, it seemed to stop the problem. The cartridge is supposed to print over 3000 pages compared to 200 for the inkjet. A little sticker shock on the cartridge price, but it lasts 15x longer. So price per page is low. I hope I do not have any problems with it because I can already see a great improvement in my productivity.

The LaserJet Pro m426fdw is a solidly built machine with quiet operation and fast response time to tasks. The only real gripe I have with this unit is the software installation process that requires a bit of 'hacking' to get to complete successfully. There are directions on the HP Forums on how to do this - as I have personally submitted my own work-around. It's really a shame that after all these years, HP still has software integration issues with Windows. I would only recommend this printer to those that I know that can work confidently with Windows 10 and its Management Console controls / Device management. If HP can work out the software kinks - they've got a winner here.

The printer is fantastic - no question about it. But make sure you get the one with the features you want. They all pretty much look the same in the HP - LaserJet Pro m426 and m477 series. However, those 3 numbers and last 3 letters after the 426/477 can kill ya - I had to go back to Best Buy 3 times to exchange printers because the sales reps didn't know the differences. Best Buy does not display or present the variations in the printers - you have to figure it out on your own. The 426fdw is a Black/White printer only (no color). the 477fnw does not have auto duplex; the 477fdn does not have wireless; however, the 477fdw has all three features: color printer, wireless, auto duplex. GET THE 477fdw . . . FOR THE FEW EXTRA BUCKS YOU PAY, IT IS WORTH IT.

This printer is fast and loaded with features. LCD touch screen to for manual control where needed. Prints very quickly, even double sided, from virtually any device - we use iPhones, tablets, Mac and Windows computers and it works seamlessly and quickly. It is much more than a printer, since it can also scan, copy, and fax - again double sided capabilities for all! Also connects to internet for flexible remote printing options and interesting apps. I even printed graph paper and music composition paper from one of the apps! It can also print or scan to USB flash drives. This printer is amazingly flexible and capable! I replaced my older brother multifunction unit and I am very pleased that this does everything that did and much more. I am very happy with this purchase.

Purchased at the end of November 2017. The HP 426fdn is an excellent printer for a small office or home printer with a lot of features for a printer of this size and cost. Printing in particular is fast. It can print, copy, and scan (in color), all in duplex, with duplex scanning being done in a single-pass. It can connect via 1GB ethernet, USB, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi direct and NSC, and supports cloud and mobile printing. Additionally you can print from and scan to a USB stick. I ordered from Best Buy with free shipping which I found to be outstanding!!! The box was securely taped to assure no tampering, and I expected to receive the printer in 5 days, but it arrived in 3 days! With Amazon, free shipping can take 10+ days to receive anything large or small.

Bought printer to be used in a school environment. Very very fast, even with double-sided printing. Wanted to get black and white to save on the toner costs (no color toners to have to constantly replace). Plan to get high capacity toner when original runs out but still going strong after almost 1 year. Only issues is sometimes it loses WiFi but I just reconfigure it and it joins again. WiFi is always spotty on products that go on standby a lot so not a big issue to me. It's pretty compact. Really no complaints.

Frustrated with using so much color ink with inkjet printers, especially since 95+% of printing is in B&W. Decided to go Laser and B&W to end the frustration. This black and white (monochrome) printer is perfect for my needs. Comes out of the box with ~3000 sheet toner, so I doubt that I will ever have to replace it. Prints fast, copies fast, FAX works first time every time. Duplex (two-sided) copying and duplex printing. Had no trouble setting it up with my MacBook Pro. Easy print from iPhone and iPad and even via email attachment.
