It prints great photos, but not on traditional inkjet photo paper. I use Hammermill Color Laser gloss paper (32lb., 94 brightness) and cut them down to photo size. It's thinner, so if I need a "real" photo, I send it to the lab. The photos print so it looks like a color brochure.

It isn't a photograph printer; it is designed to work properly with many types of paper, however photograph paper is not one of the types listed as approved by HP. The is a document printer, you can print many types of documents with it, including glossy double sided color brochures with pictures.
