“Will an Apple AirPrint compliant app print directly to this printer (M454dw) without having to go through some other app like HP Smart app? I am asking because some of the other answers seem to say that it does not.”

• Yes, the HP Color LaserJet Pro M454dw is Apple AirPrint compatible so you can print using just Apple AirPrint instead of the HP Smart App.

• Yes. I print from my iPhone and iPad all the time and I don’t have an HP smart app. My printer is connected to my WiFi so it comes up when I search for air printers.
