“I have had trouble in the past when I purchased toner compatible toner cartridges. The HP laser I owned would not allow me to use any other toner cartridge other than HP brand. Is this true with this laser printer. Do I have to use genuine HP only!”

It has been my experience that HP printers will only work with HP toner. That said, I have purchased and used other cartridges that claim to work. They worked, but the print quality was poor and the toner tended to streak, forcing me to clean the rollers frequently.
