No, the headset requires a Windows PC, and has some pretty specific capability requirements. You can download the "Windows Mixed Reality PC Check" app from the Windows app store to see if the PC is capable of running the headset.

Please try again later.Not directly connected to the TV as I believe your question is about but you can watch movies and TV while in the headset through your laptop or desktop. There are many free apps to be used for various experiences. One app in particular is a network portal to watch movies with virtual others in a movie theater surrounding with virtual friends. What you can see on your PC screen you can see through these only in a virtual world. These will not make a 2D video into a 3D realm but will make it as if you are watching on a very large screen. Other videos, such as a 360 videos, are made for this and it is as if you are present at the location able to look in all directions. As always, some video quality is better that others but the visual clarity is pretty good with this headset. Hope this helps.
