A:AnswerThe OfficeJet 3830 can print photos but for a better photo experience I would recommend the HP Envy Photo 7855. It has faxing capabilities just like this OfficeJet but it has a Photo Pigment black which makes for beautiful photos. I would also check out the HP Instant Ink program. With HP Instant Ink you pay based on how many pages you print each month no matter how much ink you used. Plans start as little as 50 pages (can be full color photos or a black text document) a month for $2.99 and go up to 300 pages for $9.99. When your ink runs low the printer notifies HP who sends you more ink. You don't pay for the ink or shipping, everything is included in your monthly plan. Thank you for your question!
A:AnswerPush paper holder back in. Open up both front panels. Ink cartridges will center. Push down on top of cartridge you want to replace to disengage and pop out. Remove plastic tape from new cartridge. Then push in and snap new one in place. Close both panels and follow onscreen instructions to align new cartridge.
A:AnswerThis particular model does not work with macOS Sierra. The amount of printers to list are too great. Please refer to Apple's website at the macOS Sierra section.
A:AnswerGood question. Yes, this printer is compatible with the Chromebook and it can also run on single cartridge mode so that you only have to use the black cartridge.
Here is a set of instructions explaining how to set up the printer with a Chromebook: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04122530
I hope this helps.
A:AnswerThe cartridges HO provide with all their printers are only to get you started and will only last a couple of months with below average user printing. If one replaces them with 63XL cartridges you will find they will last an average user in excess of 6 months. This is truly a home and not business printer.
Don't be surprised that 2 replacement cartridges cost more than the printers. HP makes its money off of ink Not the printers.
A:AnswerThere are drivers available on the HP Support site for Windows XP compatibility: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-officejet-3830-all-in-one-printer-series/7172321/model/7172322
A:AnswerThis printer has zero capabilities for double sided (aka duplex) printing. HP support will lie and tell you it does but then when you ask them how they tell you to print on one side then grab the paper and flip it over then stick it back in the machine. That's not duplex printing.
