“Refurbished ??? When I was online with HP's tech support and found out that my J6480 was non serviceable the HP Rep. talked me into purchasing the 5740 with a discount. He said that this unit was "Brand New", but would be put thru the paces then repackaged. However he said that it would be marked as a "Refurbished Unit" but assured me that it was a New Unit and NEVER used. All indications in the confirmation e-mails refer that this is a "Reman" unit and not a NEW unit. How can I be positive that it is in all actuality a new product ?? CMG”

Refurbished usually means it didn't pass inspection or didn't power on so this is what's usually meant when companies refer to product as refurbished

They have great deals all the time and when you sign up or Best Buy rewards for every $250 you spend you receive $5.00 in store credit. Also, wait until they have sales on the printers. If I'm not mistaken I paid 89.99 for mine. They may be having a sale now. Do not buy from HP buy from Best Buy and get Geek Squad protection. You can also get open boxes which are brand new and you can buy the protection plan.
