I see that you are trying to install your HP Officejet 5740 to your iMac running OS X 10.6 with a USB connection. I am happy to help! According to your printer's specifications, this printer is not compatible with Mac OS X 10.6. The Mac Operating Systems it is compatible with are the following: OS X v10.10 Yosemite OS X v10.9 Mavericks OS X v10.8 Mountain Lion OS X v10.7 Lion If possible, I would recommend upgrading your Mac to one of these Operating Systems, or you will need a different printer that is compatible with Mac OS X 10.6.
