Some of the answers here are wrong. This printer has bluetooth and NFC. You probably don't have NFC on your laptop, but you probably do have bluetooth. Just go into the settings and on the printer and turn on bluetooth if it is not already turned on. Then you should be able to pair it with your laptop (unless your laptop is like 10 years old or something). Now from a desktop you might not have bluetooth. You can get a bluetooth adapter that goes into a USB port for around $10 though, so definitely cheaper than a wireless router.
