“can I just print with the balck ink or all the other colors used when printing in just gray sale?”

• I print in black sometimes just to reduce ink usage. When a color cartridge goes empty the printer asks if you want to print in black.

• I would think that only black ink is used in gray scale unless the black runs out in that case I don't think the printer will work with some models others will use the other colors to make the black color

• You have an option to print only in black (monochrome). When you hit the print button. a rather larger black box will pop-up on screen, allowing you to make adjustments to the printing routine. At the bottom of the pop-up box is the word "more." Click on it and another page will open up, and from there you can select black-only print. Also, on that page, you can select double-sided printing. That is a great feature, since you will only use half as much paper.
