• Not sure what the HP support was talking about. This Omen has 2 M2 slots. One is filled with the 512GB and the other is open. I just added a 1TB Crucial SSD M2 and it works as a secondary HD where I install all my games to. Its actually much faster then the installed 512GB too.

• Yes, that drive should work just fine. There isn't a spare M.2 slot on the motherboard, so you'd need to clone the existing drive, replace it with the higher capacity one, and the copy the software back to the new drive.
