It should be okay as far as laptops go for this price point the specs are nice, and im getting one for cinema4d i will be adding an m.2 ssd for the OS and use a good cooling pad for long renders, also setting in the power setting the max processing from 100% to 99% can keep its already decent temps about 10c cooler this is especially good for longer sessions of games or 3d. I had the 960m version for 3 days and it was nice especially at 1600x900 where it can handle literally anything, but I wanted the 965m/larger screen/ extra ram when I found out I could get it for the same price and have a slightly better (10-25fps more) 1080p gaming experience. Not sure if the ram is replaceable without taking it apart and voiding warranty though so make sure the ram it comes with is enough.
