• The operating system (Windows 10 for home) is on the SSD when you receive the machine. I don't think you get a choice of which drive has the Windows 10 on it.

• Windows 10 home 64 bit is pre-installed on the 256GB SSD. If you upgraded you would need to reinstall from backup/restore to the new SSD.
