• If your laptop is like my wife's, you will never hit 3440x1440 on the HDMI port. If you have an Intel integrated graphics chip, they just can't get that high. Got a "j5create - USB-C to HDMI 2.1 8K" and now her laptop is able to hit 3440x1440 at 100Hz.

• Without knowing what model your laptop is, it's hard to say, but I'd make sure that the HDMI port on the computer supports at least HDMI 2.0
