Have only used it for the volume, very nice.

If you're asking about how you use it, think of it being like move a mouse cursor somewhere and clicking a button. If you double-click on a program or document it opens it up, or double-tap with your finger on the touch screen. To move something, you hold your finger down and drag the item to where you want it to go.
