“I wanted to ask about the McAfee that comes built into this desktop. I have Xfinity here in South Florida and it comes with free Norton Antivirus so I would prefer to run the Norton and not the McAfee that comes with this desktop. Would that be possible?”

Yes, Just delete the McAfee application. See McAfee about an uninstaller first as that may be a more robust deletion of all bits of the application.
