I have a cinder block home with concrete walls so my signal has a difficult time getting to the other end of my home. The first thing I did was upgrade my router from the cheapest model to one that was around $180 and that helped a little. Next I got an extender and that solved my problem. Now I can work in the far end of my home with minimal drops in service. I do still have my signal drop from time to time but nothing like it used to be.
