It would be a great model for a student as long as they don't store too many files on the laptop. It only has a 128GB drive, which is an upgrade from the 32GB junk they used to peddle a few years back (HP Stream models), but it's still fairly small. Eventually Windows can grow up to 90GB in size, leaving you only 20GB or so for your data.
