After owning the laptop for only a month I've averaged around 2-4 hours per charge depending upon the use. I would say 4 hours is about average for light use and I don't think the laptop is broken, it is just using a very powerful processor that requires a lot of power, I believe that is the cause of the short battery life.

Try charging to 100% and then discharging to 0% and recharging to 100%. Do this twice and if the battery life doesn't significantly improve, you have an issue. with the battery.
