Can't respond to why you are using so much black ink on the newly-installed cartridge. The cartridges included with all new printers contain a minimal amount of ink -- usually just enough to last a few days with normal usage. That way, you have to turn around and buy a new supply of replacement cartridges. If you are not buying the high-capacity cartridges, you should look at doing so. They are more money up front, but the cost-per-page is usually significantly less than with the standard capacity ones.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have an HP 6500 Officejet. This printer goes through a lot, let me repeat, A LOT of this expensive ink. Recently I went into Best Buy and one of the workers told me that this is the major complaint about this printer. Since yours is a 6520, maybe this is the same problem. I am now looking for an additional printer. I will need to do my homework, and try to find one that doesn't have this issue. Sad part, I have been having issues with Best Buy, with warranties. Also, I have visited different Best Buy stores, and I get different answers on the same product(s). I think you will have to just live with it. Sorry.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The ink cartridges in this printer are a choice of 4 colors so you only replace what is needed at a very reasonable price. My old printer only had a choice of color ink cartridge or black ink cartridge Look and make sure you only buy the black only and I was told to buy the Black Noir for a better price unless you are doing high quality photo printing
