• Without knowing the exact configuration of the cords, it's hard to say for certain, but going from one of the DisplayPorts to a USB adapter should work more smoothly, because the signal is kept digital through the whole signal path.

• Make sure the USB adapter is a 3.0 connector and the computer's USB port is 3.0
