Thank you for the answers. I called the manufacturer after looking on their refurbished site. A sales rep (and I get it-she is a SALES rep) told me that they don't sell refurbished printers, which is what I gathered from the web site. I think there must be a reason for that since they sell other refurbished products. I think I will go with new on a printer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm not sure who does the refurbishing. Mine looked and works like I'm assuming a new one would. I'm pleased with the printer and and it's scanning functionality.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It was refurbished by HP.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. To the best of my knowledge it is done by an HP contractor to their specs, with appropriate new parts, documentaion and boxes provided. I spoke with an HP rep before buying and he echoed my judgement: "Don't be afraid of something that has had human hands and attention laid on it."
