• The difference is the generation of the CPU processor. This new model (13-vq111dx) utilizes the new 7th gen chip, while the older model (13-vq011dx) uses the 6th gen processors. Basically, the new one is a little more efficient in a nutshell. Hope this helps.

• Also, the newest one has a MUCH better pen input digitizer for digital art or anything like that. The older one doesn't have a very good one, but the new one uses the Microsoft Ink digitizer that is in the Surface Pro 4
