Customers are positive about the Spectre 13.3" laptop's lightweight design, ease of use, and performance. Many appreciate its sleek appearance and sharp screen, while some find the battery life to be shorter than expected. A few users also noted concerns about fan noise and heat generation under heavy use, and the limited number of USB ports.

This computer may actually be a year ahead of the curve. It's better than any Apple products because it's lighter, faster and so easy to use. Unfortunately USB -C is quite limiting at the moment since you will need adapters to plug in your external hard drive and other USB devices... even your monitor or TV will need an expensive adapter!!! The biggest draw back however is the horrible battery life and the fact that there is no compatible external battery that will charge a 45W USB C HP device. Hopefully once the market catches up to this major oversight on HP's part you will be able to use this laptop on a plane without an AC plug. I'm only getting about three hours of battery life currently and the Sony Vaio I had for four years before I bought this HP Spectre 13.3 got over 10 HOURS.. This is a major drw back at the moment. Pros It boots super fast It runs like a dream Great form factor and keyboard Cons Very, very poor batter life (you have to carry the AC brick with you!) The world is not ready for USB-c you will need to carry a docking station and adapters

My mother's PC recently died on her and the cost would have been prohibitive to have it repaired for the original price we paid, thus came an opportunity for a new solution. As a primarily desktop user, she was not originally open to the idea of a laptop as she is retired, and primarily uses her machine for home bookkeeping, general internet use and Skype. She does travel with my father but usually he will bring his Surface. A light laptop however that she could connect and disconnect to one cable at her desk changed her perception however; thank you USB-C (words few people would expect to be said anytime soon). Having eyed a similar setup for my wife on a new Macbook Pro I was fortunate to have the opportunity to spot a sale that same day at another retailer for an Acer monitor supporting USB-C, with a good amount of IO on the back to pipe through whatever device I connected to. Reviews looked promising so I outlined the setup to her, and after looking at the sleek well made ultrabook form factor of this machine, mother was sold. Setup as follows: Acer monitor with a USB 3.0 hub hanging off has her HP AiO printer, Logitech Receiver for mouse/keyboard and her webcam plugged into it. One USB-C cable runs to the HP Spectre to pipe all of it through on top of providing power to the laptop. That's it. One cable docks display, peripherals, and provides power/charging to the device. It works like a dream. Outside of enabling this setup scenario wonderfully, the laptop itself is well built, aesthetically pleasing and incredibly lightweight and thin. While I am NOT a personal fan of the need to make everything thinner and lighter, the design choices here with the slightly protruding back with 3 USB-C ports + one headphone/microphone jack was a great compromise on I/O. Being able to open the laptop with one finger while it is on a flat surface is a great and often overlooked little THING that many makers ignore. It also doesn't get terribly hot as far as I have seen under load. Bloatware is minimal, removed a few pre-installed elements and getting everything going was quick, and the components included are more than enough power for a casual user like my mother; enabling a little bit of future proofing. The only nagging thing I noticed was an occasionally notification to "Only use an HP approved power adapter" when plugging into that one USB-C port. HP if you are going to forge ahead with the USB-C, do not expect people to make their ecosystem revolve around you; you are not Apple and that's okay. While the notification is a slight nag, it doesn't knock a star. This is a fantastic little laptop with a sleek design, a future forward configuration and a solid amount of hardware packed into a small frame. It enables a fantastic scenario for mobile work and desktop replacement setups with the embracing of USB-C, oh and they even toss a USB-C to USB type-A dongle to get you started on dat dongle life (unlike an aformentioned fruit company).

HP has built a beautiful light weight ultra book.... Pros Weight Screen is beyond excellent Keyboard Great audio output Incredibly fast booting It's simply elegant and a handsome laptop Cons Only USB C ports (you need to carry a hub and adapters as the world is not yet ready for only USB C which is the future but still ahead of its time) Huge AC adapter and silly big cord defeats portability Battery life very poor makes it necessary to carry the above with you Adapters ad to cost... HP software defeats charging from a battery pack or anything but the silly large AC adapter it comes with... This makes the short battery life a real problem

Fast, great price. Wish the screen hinges were a bit more flexible to allow more opening and the fan would be a little quieter in full mode. Great device!

Love the copper trims, fonts, and logo. It's beautiful and elegant. Love the feel - so light. Hold it comfortably in one hand! Comes w a nice black leather high quality material sleeve (maybe hard to slide the laptop out of the sleeve at first...) Keyboard is so light and easy for typing. Glass screen is the best in viewing and fancy! Product quality is absolutely what I trust to have so I'm not discussing here!

I use my laptop heavily - for work and for home. And work is both at a desk and literally in my lap as I move through nursing homes treating patients. My last laptop was less than 2 years old but was feeling heavy. I wondered if I could get the power of a laptop but the weight of a tablet. Boy could I - The HP Spectre is so light but has full functionality. Yes, I traded away 10 key convenience which I've always insisted on. But now I am not fatigued or burdened by the device in my lap. It is like an extension of my brain through my fingertips. Fast, crystal clear screen, backlit keys. I highly recommend for the professional on the go!

Love this laptop! Light weight, thin. So much faster than my previous laptop. Back lit keyboard is great when in a darkened room. If you want to move around holding this machine, like around the house, the weight is great, doesn't get heavy on your arm.

I love that the laptop is light weight. My issue is the battery life is dying within 2 hours. Need to return for a new battery or to exchange. Just bought this 2 days ago.

I love everything about this product so far. It is so lightweight and I love the bronze and gold colors together. Even the packaging was so sharp. Everything works great, was exactly what I expected. It comes with a USB adapter as well, which is nice. Additionally, i didn’t realize when purchasing that it came with a leather sleeve for protection, which is a bonus as I planned on purchasing one anyways. I’d highly recommend this product.

This computer is simply stunning. It's super light weight very nice finishes and works really great. What made me purchase it in the first place was ofcourse the looks, but it's very quick and easy to use as well. I love the size and weight of it since it is something I take with me often.

I have an older HP laptop that has been adequate but is showing its age. I use Word a lot and needed something that is more reliable. So far this laptop has exceeded expectations. The keyboard is precise and easy to use for extended periods of time. The response at start up and when using is so much faster than my old one. And how it looks with the black and gold is superb.

This is the system that I was looking for: 1) 3 pounds, counting the charger (1/2 the weight I had in my 15 inch) 2) 3 USB C ports, to support charging and twin external monitors at my desk 3) Great looking design 4) Sturdy build. Great job HP!
