Yes this laptop runs warm to hot. I had the previous model and the new version for 2019 run a bit warmer and the fan is louder. Still not a deal breaker for me.

It's designed to stay at optimal temperature but it will warm up a bit when taxing it, running resource-intensive programs, or using it on a soft surface such as a bedspread or lap. Allowing proper airflow (on a hard surface, or with an added chill mat if desired) will ensure your Spectre runs smoothly and without excessive heat.
