“Disappointed. Purchased the previous version for my retail store as a point of sale system. The BestBuy's sale's rep told me it was the newest and latest one. than I saw this. Is the new one that much of a difference to trade in for this newer version?”

The newest one claims to be 15% faster so I don't think you're gonna miss anything on getting the new one.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.As an IT Consultant with nearly 20 years experience in IT, I'd say no. The new one is better, but for a point-of-sale system the benefits of the newer model won't be seen. It's probably not worth your time and effort.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The new one has USB C - Thunderbolt ports and I haven't seen the touchscreen "ghost" issue everybody had with last year's. On the other hand, the display is now only FHD where last year's was QHD, and the active digitizer is gone which means no active stylus. Passive stylus only. For me, the QHD display had nice specs, but in reality on a 13" screen, some things were just too tiny to read. FHD is actually usable. The touchscreen ghost was a deal breaker for anybody who used the touchscreen regularly. The new one has it cured. So far. I traded in last years myself. Also by the benchmarks, about a 20- 25% performance jump with the 7th gen processors if you care about those things.

Please try again later.the new version has not an "active display", so if you want to use an active stylus pen, it wont work in the new version. that is a win for the last version. on the other hand the new version is thinner and lighter that old version. the NEW version has windows hello feature (infrared sensor that recognizes your face and log in). OLD version doesn't have this feature NEW version uses Intel core i7 (7500U), the last version of Intel core, the OLD version uses intel core i7 (7600U) the predecessor version. but the difference is unnoticeable.

Please try again later.its hard to say. i have the old 13' and it has a sd card reader the new one only has it for the 15' model. the new ones battery life is batter but charging the 13' you have to give up a usb slot for a bit to do so. the sound sucks on the old one but it looks like they add more speakers to the new one. ALSO the active pen may not work with the new one which sucks but thats what i heard not sure if true. use the best buy compare tool see for yourself. find what matters to you.
