It's very quiet. I've never heard it run.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Good question. The cooling fan turns on whenever the computer is running at higher powers and needs to be cooled down. The more demanding the program is, the harder the laptop has to work to keep up with processing demands. Since this model has an Intel Core i7 processor, it is very efficient. Most everyday programs and uses are not enough to heat the processor up too much. I hope this helps.
