A:Answer That is true. The graphics card required to run today's games at high settings @ 1080, is significant. 4k is approximately 4x that. The integrated graphics will not cut it at that resolution. You can probably play games at lower resolution, but not 4k.
External graphics cores are a newer technology for attaching high powered desktop graphics cards to laptops, however they require specific connections.
One example, the Razer Core will work with laptops with a thunderbolt 3 usb-c connection, it comes out in June. I'm not sure if this laptop has thunderbolt 3.
