The SSD is not PCIe. It is a M.2 Sata III interface but I'm not sure if it supports PCIe. Yes, the i7 is skylake. I believe that the computer will be able to power a 4K LG monitor. But if you need more graphics power you can opt for an Iris Graphics (HD 540 instead of 520) (which isn't sold in Best Buy. You can buy it on HP's website).
