Are you sure the screen is made of gorilla glass? I heard that the ones in the USA are not.

Of course you can, as you could with any computer, but it won't come with MS office installed. If you bought an MS office like MS Office 2017 then absolutely you can install it on there and if you still have the key or it's still somehow linked to your MS account it'll work fine. But, if you bought MS Office 365 back then (did they make it back then?) then no, that only lasts a year.
