- Answer Usually that depends on how quickly the hard drive gets filled close to capacity and has less room to buffer running applications. What a lot of people misunderstand about the stream is, it's very low storage capacity because it is a cloud based PC. It is meant to be used with almost sole storage capacity going to the cloud, not an on-board hard drive.

- Answer This laptop can split screen quite easily so you can do 2 things at once. Since it is Windows 8, you can have multiple apps running and can move from one app to another without issues (if you have a lot running, then you might experience speed changes though)

- Answer It does not come with a built in drive which plays dvds and cds. But when I purchased my laptop I saw under suggestions you can purchase an external drive for around $40 and then you can play dvds!

QuestionMy HP Stream Laptop gets very hot and I see there is no fan, should this be a concernThe bottom of the computer gets very hot and when it does everything runs slower and sometimes freezes up. I also don't see a fan. I have only had the computer for 1 week. Is this normal or should I take the computer back.

- Answer Your unit may be defective. Slowing down and heating up is a sign of a defect. Utilize your warranty to repair the unit.

QuestionDoes 2GB max RAM feel like a handicap?Looking for a possible HP Chromebook replacement. I can appreciate the Stream's flash memory based HD speeding up the entire OS experience, but given the choice I would have still liked to install a few GB more RAM after purchase. Does the 2GB RAM feel sufficient for this system compared to similar ultraportables with 4GB (which usually accompany a 500GB SATA, or 32GB eMMc)? I would rather spend $50 more to get a substantially better system, but wouldn't bother with for just a nominally better one. Thanks!

- Answer If you are using it for its pure purpose of work mainly microsoft office, chat, facebook, etc and not attempting to use this for gaming or alot of multitasking then you shouldnt feel too much of a restraint due to ram. However if you plan to do multi tasking or anything outside this laptops intended purpose design then it will surely hold you back.

- Answer Very few and mainly only small indie games. This laptop is designed for work purposes such as document writing or spread sheeting or internet browsing. This laptop comes only with a 32gig SSD which out of box with windows and software pre installed will come down to 25-26gigs. Most games released today average 10-20+gigs per install. They also require far more than 2 gigs of ram. Please review each games system requirements.

QuestionQuestion Regarding External Hard Drive w/ Windows XPI had an HP die on me, but was able to rescue the hard drive. I can access this hard drive on other computers, via a USB cable and cradle thing I had to order on Amazon, that have Windows XP installed as their OS. Seeing as how only 32gb of memory come with this netbook, I know I will need extra storage. Will I be able to use my old hard drive, externally via USB, on this computer?

- Answer I believe so. We purchased an external hard drive for ours so my son could do some gaming on it. We have had no issues.
