Yes! That's why I bought it. I love it for school. It's so light I don't even realize it's in my backpack, it's pretty fast, and it runs my learning management system seamlessly.

There are enought USB ports for you to connect an external hard drive, My daughter uses this laptop for college and loves the light weight and it fits perfect into her back pack. She carries it everywhere on campus.

I would supplement it with a larger screen and have a dependable external hard drive to back up all important files, as well as for more efficient laptop space management.
