The monitor can be bigger than 15.6 and over 144hz. I use a 24in 180hz with the laptop.

Please try again later.No, the external monitor doesn't need to be the same dimensions as the built-in one. and it doesn't have to be the same refresh speed as the buiit-in monitor. Without knowing what you're going to do with the computer (and what the external monitor is going to be used for when you're using it, it's hard to recommend an external monitor.
