• Speeds great for college just upgrade the 4gigs of ram to 8gigs or more if it's supported to help it snap from task to task with ease.

• You can't increase it to my knowledge. It depends on what you are studying. If you are just taking notes and writing papers, the answer is yes. If you are doing spread sheets and heavy math, the answer is no. If you want to play serious games, the answer is no.
