The HP Split laptop with detachable screen is great for having both a laptop and tablet experience. Down side is the short battery life and it never charges to 100% no matter how long it is plugged in. For users who own real tablets, the screen size is wonderful but heavy. It would be appreciated if Best Buy offered it in another color option other than white.

The concept for this computer hybrid is great, but it need a faster processor and more Ram. I enjoy its size and the ability to remove the display and make it a tablet. For basic needs and use to play card games while watching TV it is great. For any serious business or personal use, it lacks the hardware to do the job. It works fine for my home use. I recommend it for the average home user.

This is great compromise between a laptop and a tablet. It's easy to type with, and has a real keyboard, but also has a fully detachable screen so that it can be used as a tablet when needed. It starts up and runs programs quickly for a compact machine. It's also great to have two USB ports as well as an HDMI port, which is rare on smaller laptops/tablets. The only downsides are the lack of disc drive, low battery life (about 2-2.5 hours), and the fact that the screen is a little heavier than the keyboard which can lead to the machine becoming a little unbalanced while on my lap. Overall, this is the best 2 in 1 I've seen, every other device I've looked in seems to have some missing functionality.

We had been searching for a 2-in-1 PC like this for a while. The Asus Transformer felt too small, the Surface Pro too pricey. Plus the wife wanted to be able to use it on the road with 4G LTE. With the built-in Verizon SIM, this system does it all! I would give it 5 stars if the HDD was in the keyboard base instead of the display unit (making the "tablet" lighter). A very nice unit that was priced right at Best Buy!

It was time to replace my 7 year old Dell Notebook. I travel a lot with work and needed something fairly compact with a really good screen. I'm not a gamer, just use Office and a few other apps. The HP has lived up to my expectations. It is faster than my old computer and the screen is great. The tablet mode works well, slightly heavy but much better than the 2 in 1 notebooks where you flip the screen over and have your keyboard upside down underneath where it will get lots of abuse. I wish it had three USB ports instead of two and an internal DVD drive, but all in all it was the best configuration available to me for the money. Upgrading to Windows 10 over the Internet was fairly painless. Time will tell how well it holds up.

Great Idea, No need for a hotspot off your phone and still works with wi-fi if one is avalible so you dont burn up the data plan. I wish thay had an upgrade avalible with a faster processor and more RAM. However this one works fine for what I use it for.

Bought this laptop primarily to manage pictures and to surf online. Had it for a month at this point. Still getting used to Windows 8. Couple items noted is that it is very top heavy because the hardware is in the tablet. The keyboard is very sensitive. I've had to get used to the light touch for the double tap. Sometimes for me it's easier just to use the touch screen. Touch functionality works well. Picture management is still a learning process. The program used to format images has a hard time working with large pictures - I have a Cannon T3i. Plus my drive for the camera won't install properly. Internet usage so far is good, have downloaded chrome which I prefer. Not sure if it's just because it's new but there are constant pop ups in the lower corner for updates, firewall etc.

Very, Very pleased with this purchase. I am glad I did my research on it and chose this particular one. The size of the screen is large which makes it very easy to view and read, it is a little bit heavy thought. The keyboard is a decent size also and very light weight. I did immediately download the Windows 10 which I love all of the features that are available on it. You can customize this in so many ways and am very happy with it. Unfortunately, as nice as this computer is, it is nearly impossible to find a case, folio, or padfolio that would fit the screen's size to protect the outer shell and you can only use certain types of a stylus because of compatibility issues. I am actually looking into finding a company to custom make a folio for tablet use only.I have had it now for about two weeks and am still learning about all of the features that are available on this tablet and it is very well made and a great deal.

I started off looking for a basic laptop to replace a Toshiba laptop purchased 1-1/2 years earlier which suffered a hard life and ultimately a hard drive failure. I've always wanted a touch-screen laptop, and the abiity to detach the screen and use it as a tablet was a big bonus. I love the compact size and portability combined with options such as 2 USB 3.0 ports, HDMI-Out, MicroSD slot, SD Card slot, and built-in Bluetooth make this a truly powerful device I can take anywhere and do anything with. Also, the built-in LTE modem makes tethering to the Wireless Hotspot on my smartphone obsolete, thus keeping battery life on that device better suited to other tasks. Battery life as been excellent so far - usually gets me through a day with power to spare. Processor speed is adequate for what I use it for (Internet, office applications), and 4GB of RAM makes multi-tasking a non-issue. The style is very eye-pleasing, and I get compliments on it every time I take it out at a restaurant, coffee shop, etc.
At the time I purchased this, I got a great deal at $249.99 with a 2-year contract with Verizon Wireless for the built-in LTE. Since I'm already a Verizon customer, it's only costing me $10 more per month to my existing data plan for service and negates the need for my tablet which I plan to give to my oldest son. So, $250 for laptop + $240 over two years to add it to my account = $490. That means I still saved $160 compared to full retail price for this product ($649.99).
I plan on keeping this laptop for a long time to come, and will most likely continue to purchase HP products and use Best Buy as my electronics store of choice.

nice size and easy to use, I love the detachable keyboard. I can not get it to upgrade to windows 10. No help from Microsoft and Best Buy wants to charge me $50 to do it. This is suppose to be a free upgrade.

Not the most powerful in its class, and not the smallest for screen size, but overall, this product performs well. Not a high end game computer, but does all the tasks I have asked it without problem. Liked the fact it still has Win 8.1 (upgradeable) as I think it more stable for now than Win 10 and works with more programs still. Overall, a very good machine for the money.

The idea of being able to disconnect the screen from the base to use it as a tablet when you want is great. Only difficulty has been getting it to go back to computer mode quickly to use the mouse instead of touch screen. It goes back, but needs a minute or two. It has been a great computer for my teenager.

Had gone to Staples, they had my laptop for repair, said it would take another $400 to evaluate. we are new to area, so went online to ck where the nearest BestBuy would be, and it was closer and easier to get to than we thought. I hate driving thru Jacksonville, so N. Jacksonville was GREAT!
Your associates were far more willing to share and advise me on what I was looking for which I really wasn't totally aware of until I was asked the questions.
The sales person even suggested I go to lunch to discuss w/my husband all the info we both "heard"...hm...that was interesting in itself.
All in all necessary, funny how people hear different things.
Am totally satisfied w/the HP Split X2. just right for me.
