“Will i lose unlimited data? I am grandfathered into unlimited data through AT&T. If i upgrade through best buy, will i lose it? I know AT&T wants all people to lose it. They have to be reminded during the upgrade process to save the unlimited status or it will forever be lost.”

I am in this same boat. I have an unlimited data plan for my non-smartphone, but AT&T detects the M8 and adds a data plan. I need to constantly switch SIMs into the non-smartphone and call AT&T to switch back to data unlimited. If you have a true SMARTPHONE unlimited plan, they will grandfather you. If the unlimited plan is for a non-smartphone, you're gambling that they don't switch you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.As long as you don't change your phone number or your data plan (i.e., to a share plan) then you will not lose the unlimited data. That's what we were told and we've upgraded our phones a few times now.
