Yes, the loyalty credit automatically applies when you set the phone up. Shortly after you activate, you'll receive a text message from Sprint informing you to look for it within the next couple bills. I haven't actually seen it yet (I just activated my phone a week ago) but the message came in shortly after I activated the phone. There was nothing special I did, it just came in (I wasn't even expecting it). Hope this helps a little.
