I thought the same thing at first... 20mm for the large and 18mm for the small. Not true. I bought the large and the lugs can accommodate ONLY 18mm width pins. I am sure the small is therefore also 18mm. Since the stock band "flares out" beyond the lugs... actually allowing the band to be "thicker" like a 20mm band would be... that is probably where the media got confused and said "either 18 or 20mm". You can see from my pic that the band is broader than the section that goes into the lugs... meaning the lugs are only 18mm... but the band widens to 20mm. Bottom line: the part where the pins fit into the lugs is only 18mm.
