Hi Eugene, the Fit is specific to the exercise modes it supports. However, outside of the modes you are still able to track your activity through out your day including when doing many of those physical activities. The Fit will monitor your calories burned, distance traveled as well as 24 hour hear monitoring. Also in general, you not sure which exercise mode to choose, selecting Running is always a good option, as you are able to select a bevy of running targets like fat burning or cardiopulmonary exercise to suit a diverse range of running needs.
