“I just bought this phone. Now I realize that wifi hotspot is not working. As soon as I turn the hotspot the wifi goes down which results in no Internet in the receiving device. I am the only one having this problem or what?”

It is by design - you cannot consume and provide wifi at the same time. The idea of hotspot is to share your cellular data connection to other devices via WiFi.

When you enable Wi-Fi, your phone works as a receiver; and when your enable the Wi-Fi hotspot, your phone works as a transmitter. However, your phone can't work as both receiver and transmitter simultaneously. After successfully connecting to a Wi-Fi network, keep the phone within range of the Wi-Fi hotspot to avoid losing the connection due to a weak signal. Go to your phone's Wi-Fi settings page, select Advanced and then set Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep to Always. The phone will always stay connected to the Wi-Fi network. If the problem persists, turn off Wi-Fi and then turn it back on again or restart the Wi-Fi hotspot. (DM)
