As long as you have a nano SIM card, you should be fine. I transferred my SIM card from my HTC One M8 from Verizon to the Nexus 6P and the transition was smooth. I made sure to sync my contact list on my M8 with my Google account to avoid re-entering my contacts on the new phone and it saved me the hassle.
