• Yes, you can. Go into to settings and go to Fingerprint ID. You can manage it that way. Then you press fingerprint management, then enter your password, finally turn off the fingerprint.

• Yes, the fingerprint unlock feature is not a requirement and the device can be unlocked with a pattern if you prefer.
