Yes this phone will work on the MetroPCS Network. It will most likely receive an Android Oreo 8.0 update in the near future (it is currently running Android 7.0 with Huawei's EMUI 5.1)

I contacted Huawei and they got back to me and they plan to offer an update to Oreo in the future. I will be purchasing this phone as a back up phone. For the price and specs it's good phone if you can't afford a pricier android phone or need one as a back up. I've been looking at other similar priced phones and this is much better. No NFC or USB-C but hey it is a budget phone with decent specs. And compared to the Honor X with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB so storage this is a no brainer, up can upgrade the memory to a 64 GB with a SD Car. But that will bring up the price to about the same price point and you'll get an extra GB of RAM.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It will work with metro Pcs because that is on TMobile. TMobile is a GSM carrier. It does not have Oreo 8.0, it has a custom version of Android 7.0
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It does work on MetroPCS, MetroPCS is on T-Mobile's network and both are GSM, which this phone supports. It doesn't ship with Oreo, but will recieve the Oreo update at the same time as the similar Honor 7x.
