It is so much better than the apple watch...THere is a continuous display on mode that displays information and time and customizable for different watch faces...In addition there is a theatre mode which you can turn on to completely switch the display off if you are in a movie theatre and want it totally dark.

Under the settings of the watch is the Always-on Screen button, if turned off the screen will turn off after 10 seconds. you would then be able to wake it up by touching it or tilting/lifting your wrist.
