This device is compatible with iPad that utilize USB-C as their charging port. Previous generations of iPads with the lightning port are not compatible.

A:AnswerIt's possible this could fit fine. The included magnetic support grip leaves a bit of a gap if you don't use it so you might be able to use this without that magnetic support and have it fit just fine. Don't quote me on this, though, I just know there's definitely a gap if you don't include the black magnetic support.
A:Answermine just plugged right into the left side of my MacBook Pro and all ports work perfectly...I would call Best Buy and exchange for a new one...sorry I couldn't be more helpful but sounds like a default
A:AnswerNegative. With the "magnetic grip" adapter the two USB-C plugs cannot properly seat into the ports on the MacBook... the adapter is made only for thinner Air, etc. WithOUT the adapter there is a huge gap between the dock and the MacBook.
