I haven't used the microphone yet but from numerous reviews they all say the microphone is "meh". For these headphones it's all about the drivers and the 3d positional audio.

It is good for the intended purpose of in game chat, or voip communications. It has a good amount of clarity and does not seem to muffled as many headsets do when used in USB mode. When using the 8th inch aux cable and not USB mode my mic had a loud buzz making it un useable, so I returned mine. kingston sent me a new cable but that did not fix the issue. I found other people on redit have the same issue. I'm not sure how common the issue is but im not the only one. now if your trying to make commercial recordings or high fidelity audio recording this is not the right choice in microphone

The quality of the mic is fairly good from my experience. If you’re looking for a high quality microphone, it may be best to get an external mic and get a cheaper headset with a similar sound stage.
